On Sunday 20th April, Nigel took part in an annual charity walk that raises money for the Velindre Hospital in Cardiff. The hospital specialises in the treatment of cancer patients.

Avril's Walk, as it is known, was started by Avril Williams in 2000 to show her appreciation for the support Velindre Hospital gave to her during her own battle with cancer, and more than £80,000 has been raised.

Sadly, Avril passwed away in 2005, but friends and family have vowed to continue the walk in her memory.

This year, despite being slightly overcast, produced another good turnout, with plenty of people in fancy dress (see photo's of Nigel for an example!).

For Nigel's participation in the Walk, over £150 was pledged by the Panel Signallers, Technicians and other visitors to the Panel, and Nigel would like to thank them all for their donations to this worthy cause.
